Angelina Jolie announced yesterday that former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill put up for sale the only painting she made during the Second World War that is in her collection.
According to the news reported by NTV, the painting Tower of the Koutoubia Mosque will be auctioned at the evening sale of Christie’s Auction House in England on March 1.
According to the auction house officials, Churchill made this painting after the Casablanca Conference process in 1943 and presented it to former US president Franklin D. Roosevelt.
After the death of the former president, the painting passed to his son, Elliot Roosevelt, and after the sale in New Orleans in 2011, to Angelina Jolie.
Auction house officials estimate the painting will find buyers between £ 1.5 million and £ 2.5 million.
